Brisas Read-a-thon Donation Page

It is time to Ride the Wave.  Lead the Way.  Our Brisas Read-a-thon is officially here!  We are so excited to get our students reading, competing as classes, and coming together as a school community!

Our Read-a-thon is our biggest fundraiser of the year, and the money raised goes directly back into our school to help fund the events, experiences, and community-building activities that make Brisas such a special place for our kids.

Our Read-a-thon is a collective schoolwide effort.  Principal Winkelmann expects 100% participation! 

• Our school goal: 80,000 minutes of reading – all students will earn an extra recess!
• Class competition: Classes will compete for daily recognition for reading the most minutes. 
• Fundraising matters, too: Individual students will earn tons of tiered prizes and will fundraise together to ride the Ripple ($500), Swell ($1,000), and Big Kahuna ($1,500) fundraising level waves.

Most importantly, we want kids to read because reading is awesome!  Books, comics, magazines, newspapers, reading to someone, being read to, and audiobooks while following along all count!  Text reminders to log reading minutes will be sent every night of our Read-a-thon, August 18-28. 

And we know that every family’s circumstances are different.  There is absolutely no pressure to give.  But if you are able to ask friends and family to support your child, even a few dollars can make a difference.  When lots of families give a little, it adds up to something BIG—and helps us keep the experiences and traditions that make our school community great.
