School Improvement Initiatives

For the 2015-2016 school year, we are highly committed to specific and measurable school-wide improvement initiatives that are strategically embedded in our School Improvement Plan (SIP).   Our schools goals are the following:

Math SMART Goal (K-2): 90% of students will be proficient on the Operations in Algebraic Thinking (OA) standards related to problem-solving as measured by the District Summative administered at the end of the 15-16 school year.  This SMART Goal (K-2) is vertically aligned to the SMART Goal (3-5) which supports fractions.  [2014-2015 Baseline Data:  K.OA.A.3 - 82%; 1.OA.A.1 - 86%; 2.OA.A.1 - 72%; K-2 average - 80%]

Math SMART Goal (3-5): 70% of students will be proficient on specific Fraction standards as measured by the District Summative administered at the end of the 15-16 school year.  [2014-2015 Baseline Data:  3.NF.A - 66%; 4.NF.B - 63%; 5.NF.B - 31%; 3-5 average - 53%]   

Reading SMART Goal (K-1 & 4-5): 90% of students will be proficient on Informational Text standards as measured by the District Summative administered at the end of the 15-16 school year.  This SMART Goal (K-1 & 4-5) is horizontally aligned to the SMART Goal (2-3) which supports the cluster key ideas and details in text.   [2014-2015 Baseline Data:  4.RI.3 - 63%; 5.RI.1 - 76%; 4-5 average - 70%]

Reading SMART Goal (2-3): 90% of students will be proficient on Literary Text standards as measured by the District Summative administered at the end of the 15-16 school year.  [2014-2015 Baseline Data:  2.RL.3 - 56%; 3.RL.3 - 81%; 2-3 average - 68%]  

Writing SMART Goal (K-3): 90% of students will be proficient on writing Informative/Explanatory Text as measured by the AzMERIT administered at the end of the 15-16 school year.  This SMART Goal (K-3) is horizontally aligned to the SMART Goal (4-5) which supports the ability to be successful at the W.9 standard which requires analysis and reflection of Informational/Explanatory Text.   [2014-2015 Baseline Data:  AzMERIT - TBD]

Writing SMART Goal (4-5): 90% of students will be proficient with drawing evidence from Literary or Informational Text to support analysis, reflection and research as measured by the AzMERIT administered at the end of the 15-16 school year.  [2014-2015 Baseline Data: AzMERIT - TBD]  

These above school wide goals will be achieved through the following school improvement initiatives:
